Encounters With Jesus

March 10 – May 4

When people met Jesus, something happened. It wasn’t always the same thing, but it was always something. To have an encounter with Jesus was to be changed. This Sunday we’ll start to take a look at what happened when people encountered Jesus and we’ll think about what it means for us to encounter Jesus.

Encounters with Jesus | The Community Leader

May 05

Ever feel that something is missing in your life and you just can’t figure it out?  As Jesus meets with Nicodemus, the Savior is telling him exactly what’s missing.  Jesus said, “No one can see the Kingdom of God unless one is born again.”  What????  This Sunday we’re talking about this encounter with Jesus.  Explore with us

Encounters with Jesus | The Emmaus Road

April 28

How long do you keep working with someone when they just don’t seem to get it? At what point do you cut your losses and move on? The Good News for us this morning is that Jesus doesn’t give up on us – even when we’re struggling to trust in Him.

Encounters with Jesus | The Women at the Tomb

April 21

Today is Easter! It’s a day of great joy and celebration. We sing and declare that Jesus is risen. But what does that mean? How does His resurrection make a difference in my life? This morning we’ll join the women who go to the tomb and discover that it is empty. The message the angel gives them is the ultimate in Good News.

Encounters with Jesus | The Crowd

April 14

One of the dangers Jesus faced (and still faces!) is the danger of people thinking that they have Him all fig- ured out. In some ways Jesus was who the people were looking for but in other ways He was not at all what people were looking for. This morning we’ll think about a story where Jesus wants to correct some of our misconceptions.

Encounters with Jesus | The Disciples

April 7

We’ve seen Jesus comfort people, encourage people, heal people, forgive people and confront people. This Sunday we’re going to see Jesus confront His closest followers—his disciples. They need to learn what it means to be like Jesus—and so do we!

Encounters with Jesus | Jesus, The Centurion, and the Widow

March 31

We will all come to a moment where we feel that we’re out of options. That moment is usually full of desperation and questions. It’s not uncommon for us to turn to God in these moments. Two questions we may feel in these moments are the same the Centurion and the Widow had: Is God able to help me and does he care? We’ll discuss those questions and how the answer affects our lives this Sunday.

Encounters with Jesus | The Pharisees

Encounters with Jesus | The Pharisees

March 17

Jesus was full of compassion. He was kind. He was gentle. But there are times when it seems like Jesus goes out of His way to upset people. He deliberately makes them angry. Why? We know Jesus was never petty so why would He intentionally push someone’s buttons? This Sunday we’ll look at why Jesus was doing this to the Pharisees.
