The Church is the Hands and Feet of Christ

Hillside believes that living a Christian life includes caring for those around us. We believe that Jesus commanded the church to take care of its members as well as those outside of the church. We strive to fulfill this call by serving within our church community as well as caring for the poor and the oppressed in the global community.

Worship

Worship at Hillside is all about the glory of God.  When we worship God, we recognize that we are not in control, but rather it is God who holds all things together. Our goal is to seek after Him with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and to continually surrender more of ourselves to Him. We believe that when we encounter the presence of God, He transforms us from the inside out to make us more like Jesus.

This includes instrumentalists and vocalists. You can pick up an application from Steve to learn how you can join one of these teams. Or, download the application right HERE!

Children

Hillside's children's ministry cannot continue to offer such a wide variety of programs without the help and support of our volunteers. Volunteers are an essential part of any ministry and we are always looking for new people to help develop the youngest members of our congregation.  If you love kids and are passionate about seeing them grow in Christ, there is a place for you within the children's ministry. You do not need to be a teacher to impact the life of a child.  Volunteers are needed with a variety of gifts, take a look at the opportunities below to find a role that is just right for you!

Birth to 2 year olds: If you love small children there are always opportunities to serve in Nursery during either of the morning services. If you are interested in serving in nursery you can get more information by contacting Dawn.

Congregational Care

We believe that we are called to care for anyone within our community that may be in need.  There are many different needs within our community and therefore many different ways to serve.

There are times in everyone's life in which they feel overwhelmed and they can use a little help. Samaritan meals is a program that is intended to help take some of the pressure off during these times. We try to provide meals to people during or after an illness or surgery, loss of a family member, the birth of a new baby or any other time someone just needs a little help. If you enjoy making meals and caring for those in need please contact Deb for more information.

Sunday Morning

In order for our Sunday morning service to run smoothly we need volunteers to fill many roles before, during, and after the service.  There are a variety of different ways to get involved on a Sunday.  We have opportunities ranging from coffee servers to Worship Center teachers.

We feel that making people feel welcome is very important.  We have greeters at each door to assist and welcome both members and visitors. Greeters are asked to greet one month at a time approximately once every three month. If you would like to become a greeter or would like more information you can contact Deb.

Student Ministry

Volunteers are what makes the Middle School ministry at Hillside work.  We are always looking for people who are passionate about serving students and have a desire to walk with them on their faith journey.

Volunteers are what makes the Middle School ministry at Hillside work. We are always looking for people who are passionate about serving students and have a desire to walk with them on their faith journey. During each Wednesday night meeting students have time to reflect and discuss the topic for the evening in smaller groups. Adult leaders are provided with activities and questions ahead of time to help them prepare for the small group time. The leaders help guide the discussion and activities during this time. Small group leaders develop relationships with students and help guide them through out their middle school years. If you are interested in becoming a Middle School Small Group Leader please contact Kirk Kingsley @ 698-0122.

In The Community

The church is called not only to care for those within the church but we are called to care for the poor and the hurting wherever they may be found.  We at Hillside take this call very seriously. We believe it is the mission of the church to care for the needy in any way we are able.  In order to fulfill this mission Hillside is involved with many different ministries that strive to care for the people in our community that need help.
